The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 mean that from 1st October 2006 it has been unlawful to treat employees less favourably on the grounds of age. Employers are particularly vulnerable during the recruitment and retirement processes. Both processes now require a more structured approach.

Everyone must be aware of the potential risk involved when dealing with any case where age discrimination could be a factor as the detriment to the company could be severe both financially and commercially.
